Anton Johansson
I am a PhD student in Computer Science at Karlstad University with a focus on ML and AI. I am currently working on problems such as saddle-point avoidance, probabilistic models, and RL. My main supervisor is Arunselvan Ramaswamy, and my co-supervisors are Anna Brunström and Karl-Johan Grinnemo.
Publications
My Masters thesis was on the topic of Temporal generative models where I created a new model called Time Deep Latent Gaussian Model (tDLGM). See here I then developed it further, resulting in my first paper titled: "Approximate Probabilistic Inference for Time-Series Data: A Robust Latent Gaussian Model with Temporal Awareness". I presented this work at ICAART 2025 in Porto, Portugal. The paper is available here.
Teaching
I've been a teaching assistant on and off since my undergraduate studies. I am currently a teaching assistant for: DVAE23 - Foundations of AI and Optimization Methods.
These are the courses that I have been involved in:
DVAD92 - Projects in Machine Learning and AI (no longer offered)
